Privacy policy
How we handle personal information when you enquire, plan a journey or apply to drive.
Introduction
DROV is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how personal information is handled in connection with enquiries and private hire journeys, in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Information we collect
Depending on how you contact us or arrange a journey, information may include:
- Contact details: name, email address and phone number.
- Journey information: pickup and drop-off locations, travel date and time.
- Flight details: flight number for airport transfers.
- Special requirements: child seat, accessibility, luggage or pet requests.
- Driver applications: name, address, contact details and licence or insurance expiry dates that you choose to email us.
Payment on this website is currently a demonstration. It does not collect card details or take money.
How we use your information
We use information you provide to:
- respond to enquiries and arrange journeys;
- communicate with you about your booking;
- provide customer support and improve our service;
- review driver applications; and
- meet applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
Legal basis for processing
Depending on the purpose, our legal basis may be performance of a contract, a legal obligation, our legitimate interests in operating the service, or your consent for optional marketing communications.
Data sharing
Information may be shared with the driver who completes your journey, service providers that help us communicate or process a confirmed booking, and authorities where required by law. We do not sell your personal information. If a live payment provider is added, this policy will be updated to explain that processing.
Data retention
We retain information only for as long as needed to provide the service and meet legal obligations. Booking records may need to be kept for up to six years for tax and regulatory purposes. To ask about a specific record or request deletion, contact us using the details below.
Data security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information. Contact and driver forms on this site prepare an email in your own email application; please avoid sending sensitive documents unless our team provides a suitable secure method.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you may have rights to access, correct, erase or restrict the processing of your personal information, receive portable data, and object to certain processing. You can make a request by emailing info@edinburghairporttaxi.com. Read more in the Information Commissioner’s Office guidance.
Cookies and map services
The live route planner uses public map and location services when you use it. Those services receive the places you search. Essential browser storage may support the booking experience. Optional tracking should be explained and consented to before it is introduced.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
